| Why is Obama black? His father was of black African stock, his mother of European. What calculation makes a person of mixed parentage a member of one or the other? If *one drop of blood* determines a persons race, a negative if the person in question happens to be other than white and living in the US or most Euro-white countries (Aryan preferably, that is northern European), then where draw the boundary on conventional racism? During the Inquisition (officially closed only in the early Twentieth Century) the Conversos (Jews forced to convert or face death) were under constant suspicion (*bad blood* was not an invention of the Twentieth but the Fifteenth Century!). Racism is racism, and lethal antisemitism is always just a matter of chance. |
