| If this was 200 BC and the Syrians owned the Golan high ground, then they could sweep down upon the Israelis with their chariots and wreck havoc. If this was 1804 the Syrians would use their calvery instead of their chariots. They would also pound the Israelis with their artillery. If this was 1945, the Syrians would use tanks and better artillery. Nowadays, the Syrians have a few obsolete tanks, a few pieces of obsolete artillery and a few obsolete aircraft. If they went to war with Israel, they would use their missiles. The Golan is the last place they would put their missiles in order to keep them away from Israeli forces. Israel needs to get into the 21st century and stop resorting to ancient "holy books" to plan their military tactics. |
