While it may be true that one person`s terrorist is another`s freedom fighter, your point is misplaced for it is not justifiable for Palestinian groups to kidnap Israeli soldiers (or civilians) on the Israeli side of the armistice lines. Such kidnapping does not fall within the definition of fighting for a group`s collective freedom, but rather represents efforts to coerce Israel into releasing Arab prisoners regardless of the acts for which they have been imprisoned.
I have read quite a lot of Chomsky`s writings (starting with his only truly important contribution to this world - linguistics) and do know what you are talking about. Chomsky`s brilliant manipulation of language makes it possible for him to create a valid argument out of just about any issue he chooses. He manipulates language to suit his personal agenda, and his politics are quite unfairly biased towards whomever he dislikes. He could help equitably solve the Arab/Israeli conflict but instead stirs up anger. |
