We need a paradigm shift with aliya - encouraging lots of wealthy, talented people coming from North America and Europe because they want to. Israel`s history is a continuity of accepting poor semi-educated Jews who often came here because they had no choice. Dont get me wrong - its good they came and Israel can be proud of integrating past aliya - OK with flaws, and discrimination here and there, but nevertheless in macro terms it was a success.
The USA successfully integrates wealthy, talented people from around the world. It is Israel`s privilege to try to encourage wealthy, talented Jews to live here. We need more people like Scott Tobin, Stanley Fisher, etc. |
