You are right Iran and Israel are natural allies in the region, and were closed allies before 1979. Nobody wishes for war nor for an attack on Iran. But can Israel wait for the current iranian regime to fade away. At the pace Iran is developing nuclear weaponry, the 30-40 years you are talking about may be too late.
