Yes, hence, Russia should arm Iran to the teeth, or else someone else will. Having a nuclear Iran works in the Russians interests because it breaks the US monopoly in the region, an Iranian/Iraq coalition.
The reality is that the US wants to undermine Russia in every sphere, Russia needs to use a multi-prong strategy where it uses Iran as "its Israel" in the region, namely, its rabid dog.
Counterbalancing the US and Israel and undermining the despots in Saudi Arabia which in turn further erodes US influence. Strategically it should also word with China to try to monopolize the region as a counterweight to Europe/US influence. |
