| Actually there is a tanker version of the 767, Japan and Italy are flying them. Nevertheless the timeframe for building more conversions for Israel and getting them operational with the IAF spans decidedly beyond presidential elections. Even if the deal would be made in 2009 (assuming McCain is elected), the aircraft would hardly be around Israeli skies before 2010. Overall we see another gap in the jingoistic assertions of "We can do it alone". And not the only gap. |
