George Bush has become a joke by lecturing the Chinese on human rights with the spectre of Gitmo, kindnappings, and torture carried out with the full endorsement of this administration; and now lecturing Russia about the integrity of borders with iraq in the background and foreground.
The media, that has displayed this conflict as some simle morality tale is complicit in presenting Georgia and its president as heroic, when in fact Georgia, feeling protected by its new association with The West, was the agressor in this case. Did those fools really think The West would risk nuclear war on behalf of Georgiam aggression?
To be frank, I look forward to a cold war; I felt safer with mutually assured destruction, a concept that forced politians to think rationally. This so called unilateral moment where a bunch of crazies thought that it is they who define reality, and it is the rest of the world that must adjust to that reality, is over. |
