He kicked most of the Jews out of his politbureau. Jews were very active in the Bolshevik movement as a response to the rabid antisemitismm under the Tzars,not to mention the rest of Europe. The Bolshevik Jews were killed in show trials etc and Jewish(& all other )religious practice was supressed but they were still identified as Jews on their internal passports.This limited entry into Universities etc.
