| We cannot ignore the Armenia-Turkey conflict. Russia may want the oil, gas and money; however neighboring Armenia was being cut off by Turkey. You cannot have a peaceful situation there with Turkey ignoring Armenia and having only relations with Georgia. Turkey should have reached reconciliation with Armenia and reached EU membership already and included Armenia in the pipeline and rail lines. It left Armenia looking for Russia for protection; so instead of an ally of the west, Armenia stays with Russia and Iran. Turkey to have been a major power in the region could have done more to avoid this situation. Can we really count on Turkey? |
