| Nothing irks the enemies of Israel more than the settler movement. Ignoring the "Gaza first" fiasco, Israelis advocating a Palestinian state in the West Bank fail to ask themselves what would follow. Hamas would assume control once the IDF withdrew and all opposition would be silenced. Weapons and Islamic terrorists from Malaysia to Morocco would enter from Jordan under threat of assassination (Remember Arafat?s claim: ?Jordan is not a state, but a river that runs through Palestine.?) Iran?s revolutionary guards would be certified as ?returning Palestinians.? Rockets would blanket our nation, while those fearful of Arab terrorism in their own nations with large Islamic communities would insist that Israel must make further concessions for world peace. Israel has no other realistic option than expanding Jewish settlement in territory captured in a war of self-defense, providing limited autonomy to its Arab residents. |
