| Please do not think it went unnoticed that you deleted twenty-nine formerly-published letters in response to this artlicle, and have printed no more sinse noon today, a full eleven hours later. It seems that too many people responded negatively to this article, just as readers did in response to similar pro-Darwish articles in the other Israeli electronic media. Apparently the political tide is shifting and Israelis no longer find it appropriate to excuse or otherwise coddle our existantial enemies. Hate- poetry is an abomination, not an artform, and there is no place for its acceptance as normative civilized literarary expression. Darwish`s "poetry" advocated the ethnic cleansing of our people, dead or alive, from this land. This should be exposed rather than extolled in our national media. The lie is wearing thin, the people are rejecting it and moving on. The media would be wise to catch up to the new parade. |
