| Israel continues west bank expansion in spite of the protests of Abbas and his faction. Seeing what little respect Israel gives Abbas and how unsuccessful Abbas is in gaining peace with Israel, it is only natural that the Palestinians would decide to support Hamas. Hamas certainly gets respect from Israel and Hamas has had some success against Israel. If it was to Israels advantage to have peace, then we would see peace achieved. Instead, it is to Israels advantage to expand the west bank settlements, so we see expansion taking place. |
