| America is not guiltless in the Lebanon war fiasco. The US Congress was complicit in giving Israel free rein. In the case of the much vaunted context of Israeli-American partnership, the fact that America did NOT intervene is complicity by silence, by inaction as the inaction and failure to call off the dogs, or keep them securely fenced and caged, of the owner of a pit bull which mauls his neighbour. The AIPAC and other US Christian Zionist, dispensationalist dominated lobbies in Congress bear the overwhelming majority of guilt for creating political conditions in Israel aiding, abetting, and inciting Israel`s land grabs against her neighbours. Those neighbours have not been guiltless, but compared to US Christian Zionist guilt in Congress, it pales to insignificance. |
