Joey, you`re being paranoid. I used to believe China was a threat too, and I actually know Chinese people. Your ignorant comments about their "lack of assimilation" I think suggests you may not actually have any education about Chinese culture at all. Yes, there are China towns- vibrant places, full of people who made the choice to emigrate looking for a better life- much the same as 1900s Ellis Island Jewish immigrants, some of whom spent the rest of their lives speaking Yiddish and working their asses off to give their children (my grandparents) a better life. The Chinese in Chinatown are largely comparable. Additionally, I attended a high school that was over 20% Asian, nearly all of them Chinese. There were second generations, third generations, and kids who`d shown up in sixth grade and already spoke perfect English. |
