If Israel was going to attack Gaza, they would have done so when the Qassams were flying, or after Shalit was captured. The idea of attacking Gaza is a popular campaign promise in Israel. In America, it is like promising lower taxes or higher pay. In the upside down world of Israeli politics, it is the so called left wing parties that seem to be most hawkish.
