| The American consumer cannot stand a sustained assault on Iran, oil would skyrocket to 6 dollars a gallon with no one to blame but Israel. The rising tigers of India and China would roar as they would feel the pain acutely and would sell its dollar reserves further escalating the drop in the dollar, a currency that oil is based on, further escalating the rise of the price of oil. The strait would be shut down and unlike the 70s embargo where oil was cheap and rose from that base it is already high and would reach unsustainable proportions. In addition, in the 70s the US imported only 25% of its oil, its up to 70% now, so the pain would be more direct. Also, any plans that the US has with Iraq or Afghanistan would be OVER, there would be a no holds bar assault (direct and indirect through the shitte) on both countries. The green zone would be bombed and the factions of Iraq would begin to fight again and against the occupiers. The US knows all of this and Iran knows that it knows this . |
