Really, it is quite astonishing how hopeless the Bush and Olmert governments have been in the last two years.
But what a disaster this little farce is turning out to be: Iran is going to stare down the E3+3 group, and Assad is going to ride in with an 11th hour face-saving "compromise" to cover their embarassment.
In short: they will owe him one.
Assad, of all people, will end up as the man who covered the arse of the UK, Germany, France, Russia, China and America....
