| So, in his swan song goodbye, Col Nir Press is talking now -- but he is still misrepresenting. He says:"The claims of electricity shortages and hunger were part of Hamas` campaign of lies." ... OK, leaving aside the bit about Hamas` campaign of lies (spin, whether or not true, and who can judge - the IDF?), let`s focus on the part about "The claims of electricity shortages"... The Israeli military got a go-ahead from Israel`s Supreme Court on 27 January to proceed with electricity cuts it had wanted to effect on 28 October. The military actually proceeded with electricity cuts BEFORE the Supreme Court ruling, but those were of course pinned on "local error" and "technical mistakes". Once electricity cuts started in early February, the Defense Ministry quickly realized that they could not selectively deprive only Hamas of electricity, and that there was a humanitarian crisis, so they INCREASED directly-supplied current, without saying so. Electricity shortages came from IDF fuel cuts |
