Two opportunities stupidly lost. The right step would have been to swap no Palestinians at all and separate the Palestinian issue from the Lebanon issue completely.
In the alternative, the grounds for dropping the number of prisoners released should have been the way Regev and Goldwasser were treated by Heezbullah and the way hezbullah played the families - this is the unconscionable conduct that should have borne negative consequences for Hezbullah. Basing the reduction of released prisoners on the shoddy report on Arad was just a bonehead play. Why excuse the inexcusable? |
