| It is obvious that much of Assad`s new image is a publicity campaign in order to win favor in the west. This is to counter balance the ruthless assassinations in Lebanon, arming of Hamas and Hizballah amongst other things. Even their US ambassador keeps a blog to talk about mundane life - it is a political strategy to seem harmless and thus cause an outcry if indeed they are attacked. Given that most of their violence is directed against us and our interests, I think it poor choice for an Israeli newspaper to promote this insincere propaganda image. |
