| The Nazis made such an effort to destroy modernist art and architecture, and Berlin nightlife scorned by Hitler for its excesses and flirtations with non-Aryan (i.e. jazz) culture. It should only be fitting that a country of survivors preserves so much of what Hitler tried to erase. Tel Aviv not only has the largest collection of Bahaus architecture in the world, but some of the best nightlife in the world, and one of the most exciting gay communities as well. |
