Livni is more cool headed, responsible and centrist. Mofaz shoots from his hips and does considerable damage to Israel by making irresponsible statements on Iran. Although Livni comes from a revisionist background she is committted to a peace process with security. She will most likely continue the present coalition, while Mofaz may try to broaden it to include Likud. This might paralyze all present steps toward peace. Of course a lot of Israelis, particularly the right wing, are opposed to peace and think in the terms of Neo Cons that conflicts can be solved only by military victory - no matter how many people die in the process for dubious results - the majority, I believe, is still reasonable and will thrive with Livni to achieve a secure peace. |
