| Poor Olmert. He bombed an Arab capitol and killed over 1000 Lebanese civilians in the 2006 war. He continued west bank expansion even though it was the mission of Kadima to withdraw from the west bank. He supported Fatah against Hamas and engineered a bloody Palestinian civil war. He dragged his feet on the peace process and gave up nothing while, at the same time, increasing the Jewish presense in east Jerusalem. He conceeded to the popular demand frmo Israelis to trade for Goldwasser and Regev. In spite of all of this, Olmert is in disgrace for wanting to take his family on a working vacation, staying in a nice hotel, and flying first class. These perks should have been Olmerts by right. The fact is that Israelis want Olmert out for one reason only. He lost the war to Hizbollah. Sadly, this would have happened to anyone. Israel was defeated by their over reaction and this would have been worse under Netanyahu. |
