| In the days when Menachem begin was leader of the Irgun,these Jewish terrorists used the civilian population for cover. Do you exect them to wear "Irgun" uniforms and announce who they are for the purpose of being killed by their enemy? I think not. In the same fashion, irregular troops, militias, guerillas, etc use the civilian populace and the civilian infrastructure for cover. Does this give the regular, well equipped military justification for killing the civilians in order to strike at the militants? In Israel it does, in most civilized places, it does not. Israels strategy of killing civilians is meant to make those civilians hostile to Israels targets. Instead, it makes them hostile toward Israel. This is not a surprise to anyone but Israel, who seems unable to comprehend this truth. It`s too bad that the Hamas guys don`t make it easier for Israel to kill them, but they are stronger than ever due to Israels actions against them. |
