The Ergenekon case is being used by the current Islamist AKP to attack discredit and subdue the Turkish military which has been the guardian of the secular republic.
The Zaman news paper is the voice of the AKP and ultra religious Fethullah Gulen sect. Is distributed mostly for free as a propaganda tool. Cannot be trusted.
Guney, the so called Rabbi who converted somehow to orthodox Judaism from Islam (Is this really posible? What a story!) said in a recent interview to Mehmet Ali Birand that the fate of ergenekon would be same as the Susurluk case meaning it would not be resolved.
The allegations made in the case are mostly illegally obtained and not seriously substantiated. In a western court it would be rejected. They claim to have 3 secret witnesses. In Turkish system there is no legal DISCOVERY requirement.Go figure. |
