I agree with all of it.
Let me add this:
The center left and center right in Turkey are not capable to win an election because they tend to look down at the people from small towns. They do not come with solutions to the nations problems except the issue of secularity.
The religious party on the other hand has done a great work in literally buying the poor peoples votes by giving them free coal, food packages and various other gifts. The most effective in some Izmir neighborhoods was pressure cookers worth about $50 without the lids. The lids were to be distributed only if the AKP wins the elections in that district. |
