I am totally stunned at the sheer naivete of Israel`s leaders. How can anyone truly believe that Syria would choose Israel and the Jews against Iran. It seems totally unreasonable to believe that Syria would do anything but promise Israel every intangible to gain the ultimate tangible being the Golan heights. Will Israel ever get back the Golan if Syria re-establishes relations with Iran or Hezbollah? I doubt it.
Israel needs to tell Syria they have to wait in line. Peace first with the Palestinians then we can discuss peace with Syria. At least in this way Syria will be motivated to encourage a peaceful Palestinian leadership. I hope. |
