"Israel needs a peace treaty"

Of course it does, Natallie, and, like you, I once imagined that the plain good sense of it would lead to peace.
I no longer believe that.
I believe Israel is best viewed as a runaway train, one that can`t change its course or its direction.
There are no politicians on the scene with the vision or personal stature to take on the pernicious zealots and settlers.
And why should Israel change its ways?
Like a man falling from a building who keeps thinking "So far, no problem" as he passes each floor, Israel thinks the pasrt will extend into the future.
There is no hope for Israel.
It will all end in catastrophic war.
Israel won`t make its centenary.
