| bring the phalanx to protect sderot! yeah! several of us have been saying that for the longest time! oh but wait! it`s "not effective enough"! oh really? jokes on YOU! tell it to the bases in iraq that it successfully defends...and the american warships who have had it for decades as an automated defense. "several defense ministry officials...argue that israel should focus on developing the iron dome defense system, which will not be ready before 2011" sorry guys...it`s an excellent system BUTT!... it`s already KNOWN that its parameters of operation make it completely USELESS against against rockets or mortars fired within 4 kilometers... and $40,000-100,000/intercept? holy smokes! for a mortar?...IF it gets it in time! these "ministry officials" must indeed have their hands in the "iron dome" pot! but don`t get me wrong...it looks to be an excellent defense system...for mid range rockets and missiles. next subject: don`t you wonder just HOW it is that shin bet KNOWS that "since the lull, four tons of explosive material, 50 anti-tank rockets, dozens of rifles, and raw material for the rocket array have gotten to hamas in gaza"? sounds to me like diskin, who`s been "mr. ain`t-gonna-last" from the onset, is really trying his best to make sure his pessimism pans out...despite the determined efforts hamas is making to stop the rockets. the WHOLE latter half of this article describes a hornet`s nest of naysayers who aren`t very comfortable with the cease fire that THEY themselves claimed to have wanted? it`s almost as if their longterm political aspirations and/or zionist goals, are being threatened by it. |
