The most lenient judgement with its ridiculously short imprisonment was given at time of German general, political / economic uncertainty, large number of jobless. Also the accuse, Hitler was a War invalid as in Austrian volunteer to the German Army?s who at the time didn?t seemed to have any real mass-movement backing him. Or his ideas. ? Again back to the timing of this Film Production, its presumed premier showing hints, in the direction of political present motives to awake a dormant / nearly forgotten story and to create a climate for a political juridical discussion. Already ongoing argumentations on the question of this trial?s influence seems to be very premature as the historic material available for such a Film undertaking is ? incomplete ? owing to apparently preventive steps by Hitler government ? Of course certain parallels into our present political situation can here be established. But at the other hand the old saying ? History does not repeat itself ? can be accepted, also to be used now as a sign of political steps. |
