You need a certain level of enrichment for nuclear reactors - somewhere in the 5% level.
You need a much higher level of enrichment for nuclear weapons - around 80% if you want to put those nukes in missiles.
Now, if you have A Heap O` Centrifuges then you have two choices; install them is parallel, and you can then churn out a heap o` low level enriched uranium, or link `em all together to make a small amount of highly enriched uranium.
Now, having set that out.... Haaretz: "they had started using the IR-2 centrifuge that can churn out enriched uranium at more than double the rate."
Double the rate, not double the enrichment.
The way Iran has installed these centrifuges makes clear they are using them to make MORE FUEL MORE QUICKLY, not make A MORE HIGHLY ENRICHED URANIUM.
The IAEA has already inspected all this stuff, and they don`t have the slightest problem with it. |
