Available on DVD, the first episodes mention the 1923 Hitler trial and an earlier trial not so well known. Hitler destroyed records of the earlier trial, but a few survive. I don`t recall the details, but some are mentioned in the TV show. The judge who let Hitler off in the earlier trial was one of the ones in the 1923 trial, so Hitler knew from the start that he would be treated leniently.
More than one book gives a lot of detail on the 1923 trial. The new thing here is that people who don`t read books will learn about this incident. |
