| There are many unsavory and biased reports on Al-Jazeera, but Israel should be working with them. Israeli diplomats can`t expect to change their views, but giving the Arab world exposure to Israeli viewpoints--even if they disagree with them--and now culture can be a huge first step toward at least cooling off some tensions. For one thing, I think that many Arabs are interested in what Israelis have to say. They have little to no interaction with Israelis, their govts mostly have cold relations with the state of Israel, and much of what they know is dictated by what they hear. While Israel is democratic and has a more free flow of info, Israelis can also benefit from seeing politicians from Arab states on Israeli TV, answering Israeli reporters` questions. |
