| It is an old truism that a person who has a little money saved will try to be frugal, but a person who has nothing at all and is living on credit will spend like a madman. This is the American government. We are fighting a necessary war in Afghanistan at the cost of 100 billion and fighting an unnecessary war in Iraq at the cost of 200 billion and perhaps thinking about starting another war in Iran at a far more astronomical cost while Americans go without jobs or homes, or medical care. The American economy is going down for sure and who knows where it will lead. It is past time for America to downsize, starting with foreign policy committments. We simply cannot afford to go around the world picking unnecessary fights when the nation is collapsing. |
