It`s an attempt to get all the apologists on-song *before* Something Really Bad becomes public. Anyone know if there are any Congressional hearings coming up that require Condi presence? Of course, what is *very* suspicious is that this Israeli hissy-fit has occured at the same time that news has broken of Gen. Jones ubber-critical report of Israeli security policy, so maybe that`s what this is all about i.e. the Israelis are attempting to muddy the water by implying that all US criticism of Israel is trivial. But, yes, you are right; saying "I`m PISSED OFF with the State Dept and I don`t care who knows!!!" would normally be so counter-productive that no "Israeli official" would dream of leaking it. So there is something else lurking below the surface of this.... |
