For all too long our US government which supplies the beggar state of Israel with billions of our tax dollars (more than all of the African countries together) has for all too long allowed Israel to do whatever it wanted to the Palestinians with hardly more than a soft remonstration, and often, not even that.
Don`t build settlements, the US says. The hell with you, Israel says. But please give us more money and a cowed Congress falls into line.
It is about time that just demands are made of Israel by its biggest patron and if the Israeli government doesn`t fall in line then cut them off and let them sink or swim on their own. And if Israel doesn`t like it, then let them lump it.
It is past time for the US not only to withhold every penny that goes into Israeli government pockets but to press for boycott and sanctions until the occupation and all settlement building end. |
