| Unlike in the past, Israels policies are coming under increased scrutiny. It has always been understood that Israel itself was the major impediment to peace, but, since Israel was considered an ally to the west, this was kept quiet. How times have changed! Now Israels policies have actually become a burden for America and others. Essentially, Americans are paying, and fighting, and dieing to protect the Israeli way of life, including settlement expansion and all of the oppressive policies adopted by Israel. The previous "kid glove" handling of Israel is fading away, and my guess is that we will see international sanctions imposed within a few years if Israel does not sort itself out. |
