Obama is very eager to withdraw the American troops from Iraq, where arguably, the United States might be actually achieving at least stability. Such withdrawal would, without doubt, take off military pressure from Iran, Iran which is increasing its regional hegemony while developing a nuclear weapons program.
At the very same time, Obama proposes a troop increase in Afghanistan to fight the Taliban and Al Qaeda. The major problem with this plan is that the Taliban and Al Qaeda are base in Pakistan, not in Afghanistan. Will Obama start a new war with Pakistan? |
