| Obama is in a rather unique position vis a vis Israel. He refuses PAC money, so AIPAC has no hold on him, and the Jewish American voters are likely to split their vote and thus be rendered inconsequential, no matter what Obama says or does. This allows Obama to be the "candidate of change" which has gotten him this far so quickly. There is no area of American policy that is more in need of a change than Americas relationship with Israel. America gives Israel billions in weapons every year and then complains that Israel continues to expand rather than make peace. America has served as an "enabler" for Israel and has thus undermined the peace process in a big way. This must change. If Obama is the man, then now is the time to start. If he does not, then he will lose his chance to change the world for the better. |
