If you want to analyze Washington, think first of American interests, not Israeli ones.
Bush probably has failed in leaving a legacy as bringer of Democracy to the Arabs, and will almost certainly fail as bringer of peace to Israel and Palestine, BUT HE DOES NOT WISH THE NEGATIVE LEGACY OF BECOMING HERBERT HOOVER JUNIOR: that is to say, Bush doesn`t want to be blamed for plunging the US into an economic depression by provoking an oil shock because of a military attack on Iran.
A nuclear Iran is NOT a threat to Americans. We lived through a nuclear Soviet Union and a nuclear China and Iran is NOTHING in comparison.
