It is practically certain that Iran will not give up its nuclear weapons program. No new meetings have been scheduled with Iran with US participation. Iran is simply playing for time. The Arabs are anxious. They are hoping for a miracle. Iran is as much a threat to them, as it is to Israel. If Iran is not stopped, it will have much increased influence in the region. The Doha accords were probably a mistake for the Arabs. Iran has thus far not made any significant diplomatic concessions except for certain ad hoc agreements with the US. Iran will not make any real concessions regardless of who is president. |
