The Iranian airforce need not be a qualitative nor a quantitative match for the IAF.
At the distances we are talking they need only need to have the capability to interdict the IAF and they will seriously degrade any ability to take out the Iranian nuclear facilities.
And let`s face it, that`s all a defender needs to do.
In short: the IAF needs to be able to act without hinderance in Iranian airspace, and 200-odd Iranian jet fighter might well be enough to stop that.
Which means Israel must *FIRST* take out the Iranian airforce, and that runs the risk of the entire scheme coming undone before she even has a chance to turn her attention to the nuclear facilities. |
