slashing the defence budget, getting out of iraq, learning to do with less are realities the americans have no choice but to accept.
these changes will be minor compared to the real challenges facing the us over the next decade.
the ultimate challenge for americans will be how to change their mindset. americas unshakable belief in the inate goodness and superiority of their people,system and culture as compared to others, is their achilles heel. this mindset manifests itself in arrogance, hubris, self righteous and scant regard for others pain. bush ripped the fig leaf off this attidude... how the new prez manages this will determine americas future. the same applies to israel.
