Batteries can be swapped but that is far from as easy as you make it. 200 kilos handling in and out require some sort of a lifting device, one per car handled, disconnection and connection. Furthermore, it is not possible to go to the 200 km limit and expect exactly there the changing station. As with petrol cars, the last available station may be 20 to 50 km away before running out of power. You change at 150-180 km. Therefore a lot of waste results from the swapping as the used battery will not be empty. Next, have you never found a closed station when needing one? What do you do if you are close to empty and no station. Walk to it with the empty battery and carry back the full one? Would you like more scenarios? So, you need a tow!
