All this talk about the shiite crescent is ignoring current deals between Turkey and Iraq for oil. Iraq`s Kurds are the second largest group after the shiites. Turkey already does business with the Kurdish section. I was hoping, esp. that Turkey keeps secular, but that it would link up with Iraq, as a gateway to the West for the arab world. They promised us change in Iraq within the next five years and I see a lot of promising developments, as well as the pipeline from Turkey to Israel to India. Also, it is possible for Turkey, Greece, Armenia to reconcile to avoid war. The Med Union is still in an infant stage. Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestinians - what is Turkey talking about in its talks with Assad?
