Olmert`s counter-claim, that he paid for his children`s flight tickets with the bonus points he earned from his own flights (in any case, insufficient according to the police) - does NOT hold any water.
According to proper, honest administration, all bonus points earned on Business tickets paid for by the State (or Jerusalem municipality), become the property of the State, and not of the official - if Olmert did not pay for the business air tickets out of his own pocket, he has no right to make use of any bonus points earned thereby.
n.b. The Universities demand as much of their academic staff who travel on Sabbatical, on tickets paid for by the University. The bonus points have to revert to the University.
Accoding to the Bozaglo law, Olmert should be in the same `boat` - that is IF it is at all credible that all of his children`s flights were paid for entirely by bonus points??? |
