Silvan Shalom is correct about the continuing disparity between the Ashkenazim and Mizrachim in Israel and even in Diaspora, but he is correct about the younger generations having less of a issue with it as the older generations - it`s a much different world, with greater role models, opportunities. The generalizations about Mizrachim versus Ashkenazim is beyond pathetic already. However, it`s the political perspectives which Silvan Shalom takes, eg. last paragraph regarding the Palestinians, is so passe and totally right leaning, which signals that he perhaps will never become the Mizrachi Prime Minister of Israel. Also, the assessment on PM Olmert`s political motivations is also incorrect - Olmert`s moderation towards our adversaries and patience with the other parties, has led to his success to hold unto being centrist elected PM. If Silvan Shalom does not moderate as well, he`ll be seeing former Haaretz Mizrachi journalist, Daniel Ben Simon, as the first Mizrachi Prime Minister!
