| Olmert had been second-in-comman to Arik Sharon. The Office as Ag. PM was TRANSFERRED to him on 4 January 2006 after Sharon the Prime Minister at the time suffered a Stroke. After being AG. PM, Olmert`s position as Prime Minister was then CONFIRMED upon the Formation of the 31st Government of Israel on the 4th May 2006. Therefore Olmert was neither voted nor elected as Prime Minister BY THE PEOPLE but only stepped into so-to-speak`dead mens` shoes`.Hope this answers you. |
