Because the root causes that led to the War in Lebanon have not been resolved, we must sadly conclude that another, even larger, conflict between Israel and Lebanon is likely. Only the very naive believe that the prisoner exchange, or even a return of Sheba Farms, will slake Hezbollah`s thirst for more war with Israel. The League of Nations was deemed a failure because the treaty of Versaille, which ended WWI, led to the even more horrific WWII. Resolution 1701, because it was based on a fraud and on trickery, bears the seeds of future conflict.
